The following information provides an overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data means any information that can identify you personally. Detailed information is provided in this privacy policy.
The website operator is responsible for processing data on this website. You can find the operator’s contact details under “Controller” below.
Some data is collected when you provide it to us, for example by entering information in a contact form.
Other data is collected automatically or with your consent by our IT systems when you visit the website. This primarily includes technical information, such as your browser, operating system and the time of your visit. This data is collected automatically when you access the website.
Some data is collected to ensure that the website functions properly. Other data may be used to analyse usage behaviour. Where contracts can be concluded or initiated through this website, the data you provide may also be processed for contractual offers, orders or other enquiries.
You have the right to obtain information about the origin, recipients and purposes of your stored personal data free of charge. You also have the right to request correction or erasure. If you have consented to processing, you can withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. Under certain circumstances, you may request restriction of processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
You can contact us at any time about these rights or other data protection questions.
When you visit this website, your browsing behaviour may be statistically evaluated, particularly using analytics tools. Further information about the relevant processing is provided below.
We host this website with the following provider:
The provider is IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany (“IONOS”). When you visit our website, IONOS records various log files, including your IP address. For details, see the IONOS privacy information.
Our use of IONOS is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in providing a reliable website. Where corresponding consent has been requested, processing is based exclusively on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS. IONOS processes hosting data as our service provider. Further information is available from IONOS under Data processing agreement.
We take the protection of your personal data seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with applicable data protection laws and this privacy policy.
Various personal data is collected when you use this website. This privacy policy explains what we collect, why we use it and how processing takes place.
Please note that transmitting data over the internet, for example by email, may involve security vulnerabilities. Complete protection against access by third parties cannot be guaranteed.
The controller responsible for processing personal data on this website is:
Lisa Groening
Lange Leidsedwarstraat 32E
1017 NL Amsterdam
The Netherlands
Email:
The controller is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of processing personal data, such as names and email addresses.
Unless a more specific retention period is stated in this privacy policy, we retain personal data until the purpose for processing it no longer applies. If you submit a valid erasure request or withdraw consent, we will erase your data unless we have other lawful grounds for retaining it, such as tax or commercial record-keeping requirements. In that case, erasure takes place when those grounds cease to apply.
Where you have consented, we process personal data under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR or, where special categories of personal data are processed, Article 9(2)(a) GDPR. Where you explicitly consent to a transfer of personal data to a third country, Article 49(1)(a) GDPR additionally applies.
Cookies and similar access to devices are subject in particular to Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet). Technically necessary cookies and certain analytics cookies with no or only limited effects on privacy may be exempt from consent requirements. Tracking and other access requiring consent need prior consent. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Where processing is necessary to perform a contract or take steps before entering into a contract, we rely on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where necessary to comply with a legal obligation, we rely on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR. Processing may also be based on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The relevant legal bases are described in the sections below.
We work with external service providers in the course of our activities. This may require sharing personal data. We disclose personal data where necessary to perform a contract, where required by law, where we have a legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or where another legal basis permits disclosure. We share customer personal data with processors only under a valid data processing agreement. Where processing is jointly controlled, a joint controllership arrangement is concluded.
Many processing operations require your express consent. You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. This also applies to profiling based on those provisions. The relevant legal basis is stated in this privacy policy. If you object, we will stop processing the personal data concerned unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or processing is necessary for establishing, exercising or defending legal claims — Article 21(1) GDPR.
Where personal data is processed for direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time. This includes profiling to the extent that it relates to direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will no longer be processed for these purposes — Article 21(2) GDPR.
If you believe that processing infringes the GDPR, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, particularly in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement. This does not affect other administrative or judicial remedies. The Dutch supervisory authority is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
You have the right to receive data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or a contract in a commonly used, machine-readable format, or to have it provided to a third party. Direct transfer to another controller is available where technically feasible.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your stored personal data, its origin, recipients and the purposes of processing free of charge. You may also have the right to rectification or erasure. Please contact us with any questions about these rights.
You may request restriction of processing in the following circumstances:
Where processing has been restricted, the data may, apart from storage, be processed only with your consent, for establishing, exercising or defending legal claims, to protect another natural or legal person’s rights, or for important public interest reasons of the European Union or a member state.
If you send us an enquiry through a contact form, we store the information and contact details you provide to handle the enquiry and any follow-up questions. Our hosting and email provider IONOS also processes the data needed for technical provision and email communication.
Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to performing a contract or taking pre-contractual steps. In other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in handling enquiries effectively under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or on consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR where requested. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
We retain form data until you request erasure, withdraw consent to storage, or the purpose for retaining it ends, for example when your enquiry has been resolved. Mandatory legal requirements, particularly retention obligations, remain unaffected.
To receive our newsletter, we need your email address and your consent to receiving it. Registration uses double opt-in: after registering, you receive an email with a confirmation link. Registration for newsletter delivery is completed only after you confirm.
We use this data to send the requested information. We use beehiiv Inc., USA, to manage registrations and send newsletters. Beehiiv receives your email address and the data necessary to process registration and delivery.
Beehiiv records opens and link clicks and makes them available in the newsletter dashboard for analysis. This enables us to understand newsletter use and improve the content. We do not use the Beehiiv Ad Network or data enrichment. The information in this privacy policy does not replace any consent required for engagement measurement.
Data entered in the newsletter registration form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw consent to storing and using your data for newsletter delivery at any time, for example through the unsubscribe link in the newsletter. This does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.
We or the newsletter provider retain subscription data until you unsubscribe. It is removed from the distribution list after you unsubscribe or the purpose ends. We reserve the right to remove or block email addresses from the distribution list at our discretion on the basis of our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Data retained for other purposes remains unaffected.
After unsubscribing, your email address may be retained by us or the provider on a suppression list where necessary to prevent further mailings. This data is used only for that purpose and is not combined with other data. This serves both your interests and our legitimate interest in complying with newsletter requirements under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Retention on the suppression list is not subject to a fixed time limit. You may object if your interests override our legitimate interest.
We use Fluent Forms on our WordPress website for the “Become a member” form. It collects your first name, last name and email address, together with information about what you hope to find in zenclub, what you would contribute to the community, and your current life or professional situation. We use this information to handle your membership enquiry and contact you about it. Required fields are marked; the form cannot be submitted without them. There is no statutory obligation to provide this information.
Contract-related membership enquiries are processed under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For general enquiries, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR applies; our legitimate interest is handling your request. Any separately granted consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
Form information is processed through our WordPress installation and emailed to the responsible people at zenclub. Our email mailbox is hosted by IONOS. The retention and erasure criteria in the “Contact form” section also apply to these enquiries. Please do not enter diagnoses or other sensitive health information in free-text fields; these are not needed to handle your enquiry.
The newsletter form is provided externally by Beehiiv. It loads only after you expressly agree by selecting “Show signup form”. Only then is a connection made to Beehiiv, which processes your IP address and technically transmitted browser information. The legal basis for this voluntary permission is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Where access to your device requires consent, Article 11.7a Telecommunicatiewet also applies.
You may withdraw this permission for the future and remove the form by selecting “Hide signup form”. This does not reverse any data already transmitted. The permission is not stored permanently. Loading the form does not subscribe you to the newsletter and does not constitute consent to tracking newsletter opens or link clicks.
For information about the provider and its processing, see the Beehiiv privacy policy. Beehiiv provides a Data Protection Addendum governing processing and international transfers. Personal data may be processed in the USA. The Beehiiv DPA provides for EU Standard Contractual Clauses, Module 2, for required transfers from a controller to a processor. The terms and annexes are available through that DPA link; you can also contact us for further information.
The fonts used to display this website are provided locally through our web server. No connection to Google Fonts is required for these fonts.
To restore the website after technical problems or data loss, we create backups manually using UpdraftPlus. They are stored on our hosting server at IONOS. We retain a maximum of two backups. Stored backups are deleted as part of an annual deletion process. Where backups include the database, they may also contain personal data from form submissions.
The purpose of backups is to ensure the security and recoverability of the website. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is protection against data loss.
